Part 2 of 12. From Book TV: About the Program From the City University of New York, authors George Galloway and Christopher Hitchens debate the war in Iraq. George Galloway, opposed to the Iraq War, is a member of the British Parliment and the author of “Mr. Galloway Goes to Washington: The Brit Who Set Congress Straight About Iraq.” The book tells the story of his recent appearance before the US Senate Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations, where he verbally attacked US Senators while responding to charges related to Iraq’s oil-for-food program. Christopher Hitchens, in favor of the Iraq War, is the author of “Love, Poverty, and War: Journeys and Essays” and “Blood, Class and Empire: The Enduring Anglo-American Relationship.” “Democracy Now!” radio host Amy Goodman moderates. She is the author of “The Exception to the Rulers: Exposing Oily Politicians, War Profiteers, and the Media That Love Them.” About the Author George Galloway is the Respect Party’s Member of Parliament for Bethnal Green and Bow in London. He won the seat after his expulsion from the Labour Party for his opposition to the Iraq War. Christopher Hitchens is a contributing editor to Vanity Fair and a visiting professor of liberal studies at the New School in New York.

Hitchen’s pedicured plummy accent as he takes snipes at GG shows him up for the phoney wannabe leftie hypocrite that he is.
Did Galloway defend or even address Hitchen’s point that GG stood with Assad in Syria – praising the insurgents who are blowing up our soldiers and their fellow Muslims?
Is there anyone out there who can explain or justify this? The only logical explanation is that George is kissing anti-American/muslim ass.
I understand and respect critisism of the war, but to defend that snake – Galloway, is entirely different. He deserves no respect.
Hitchens an anarchist/communist? I’m not entirely sure of what your evidence for that is. I’ve never read anything of his that even remotely puts him in that bunch.
He’s certainly a socialist, but I think he broke from the hard left after time spent in Cuba as a young revolutionary.
Surely you realise that your comment is an admission of your idiocy. “I never said I wasn’t”, well apparently you don’t need to.
Hitchens is brilliant. While I disagree with his foreign policy ideas it is important to note that his supporting of the Iraq war is different than most peoples as he was focused on Liberation/an end to facism in Iraq rather than the neo cons who are focused on spreading Capitalism/Globalization
however I must say I still see Noam Chomsky as a few notches above him but both of those men are great socialists, anarchists, communists etc..
That your comment on Hitchens is base and stupid and does not show any argument against what he says…
I never said I wasn’t. What is your point idiot?
You are a massive twat and a Wanker!
Hitchens is a massive twat
He probably didn’t these dullards usually don’t. Well said
Croscros72… oh, I’m an idiot, am I? Well, considering that you can’t explain yourself, nor can you explain your position, I’ll take that as a compliment, coming from an indolent thinker as yourself.
Fuck you, by the way, in case you didn’t get the message.
Absolutely Lombardi Trophy! Very good point. I fucking hate these terrorists sympathizers.
All you retards make claims but give no evidence. Maybe something you read on the internet or maybe had a teacher spout some lies. But where is the proof? You have none so quit listening to the likes of Bill Maher and research this stuff on your own.
oh yh I said SPECIFICALLY not ESPECIALLY
Not as much as the US- I cant remeber where I saw the digits but the US were by far the main suppliers of the chemical weapons
well im glad you agree with the rest of the points but the fact remains that this war is illegal therefore the hanging of saddam was illegal and the soldiers fighting in Iraq are actually war criminals
“not as much as the US.” well I don’t you or I know that to be true. that would be a guess mate.
“BTW I made more points dont just pick and choose which one to respond to ”
I agree with those points mate
not as much as the US.
BTW I made more points dont just pick and choose which one to respond to
When he gssed the kurds the maericans didnt care at the time they could have stopped him but no they wait a decade later
France and Germany have sold lots of weapons to Saddam and have made deals with him haven’t they.
Coincidence they opposed the invasion?
“but he just gassed some Kurds on the side.”
-So he made that decision on the kurds himself, your statement before is false regarding the kurds.
second: republicans as well as democrats are above the law..you saying especially republicans is ridiculous and discredits you as far as I’m concerned, democrats aren’t any better, not at all. they are also both taking away civil liberties in a fast pace.
Oh Yh It gets better they did not charge Saddam with any crimes while he was an american puppet in the eighties. they have indictments from 1974, and indictments from 1991, but none from when Cheney and Reumsfeld were feeding Iraq WMD! What a strange coincidence!
Happy now
Reagan gave Saddam poison gas to kill Iranians and Saddam did what Reagan wanted but he just gassed some Kurds on the side.
Poison gas is illegal under International Law and USA making it is illegal. But USA is above the law or specifically Republican presidents are above the law.Under International Law its just as illegal to gas Iranians as it is to gas Kurds and the criminals include every1 who was involved which includes those who supplied Saddam with the gas with instructions to use it
“Sadam wasnt really a bad guy, he just listened to America.”
and the rapist, torturer and murderer of your sister wasn’t really a bad guy either, he just listened to his big brother whispering him it was OK.
“They were the ones that told him to kill the kurds.’
is that so, I am not so sure, tell us more.
You are a fool. America and the UK supported him in killing the kurds. there are many who are worse and for some reason they’re allowed to go on killing…
You need to ask yourself why America put him in power in the first place
Sadam wasnt really a bad guy, he just listened to America. They were the ones that told him to kill the kurds.
