American Red Cross
Please Help Katrina Victims
Hiatus update
I almost forgot, former president Clinton acted like, well, president Clinton, the other day on Meet the Press. Forgetting that he wa as forceful in his warnings about Iraq as Bush was, forgetting that he went alone into Bosnia nad Kosovo, and forgetting his supreme ineptitude of the terrorist threat, you'd think he'd be just a little bit more, um, humble.

No. He simply proves that former demcoratic presidents are worse after office than during. And that folks, is a hard thing to do.

Hiatus
Well, it's been a while. I've been busy with school, reading, and just plain been burnt out. I admire those who can blog every day, throughout the day. Some are chroniclers, like that guy from UT, what's his name. Some are commentators. I try to be the latter. So, when I feel "inspired", I can write. I try to offer a different or unique perspective. Sometimes there just is little to write about.

What do we have?

Katrina is still dominating the news. The American public has shown incredible compassion, courage, generosity, and kindness. Cities and towns all over the nation have opened their hearts, homes, and wallets. My own school has two Katrina refugees playng for our football team.

Politicians on the other hand...

How do we elected such people?

In other news, Iraq has vanished from the news. The work there is still hard and dangerous. But progress occurs daily. We find that we are getting increasing amounts of information from locals, Sunni clerics are encouraging their followers to vote, we are rounding up more and more terrorist leaders, the attacks are getting fewer and weaker, and the Iraqi army and police are taking more and more responsibility every day.

Oh, you haven't heard about that in the news? I hope you're not shocked.

Afghanistan has proven so successful the media ignore anything about it. The Taliban are on the run, the elections are scheduled, young women are shedding the burkha and going to the polls, campaign posters are everywhere, and progress is slowly, steadily being made. The fight is neither over nor easy, but we are winning.

Haven't that either? I hope your not shocked.

In Washington DC, the democrats prove they are the an assemblage of partisan hacks and mindless idiots. John Roberts made them look like fools, causing Joe Biden to rethink (again!!) his chances at the white house. Kennedy and Durbin are well, proving that we can never underestimate them. Leahy says he's going to vote for Roberts. At least he's being fair. Reid on the other hand...

Now on to the president. If it wasn't for the war on terror, I'd have to ask myself why did I vote the guy. His speech on New Orleans was filled with cut and paste liberal rhetoric. Racism, spending, yada yada yada.

He wants to federalize everything. FEMA is a joke, INS is a joke, DHS is a joke, so the solution is more government!! I hope there's a serious democrat in '08, someone serious on national security, who I can trust to defend the US and not kowtow to the UN and EUnichs. Joe Lieberman, please, please, please run.

Perhaps things run best with a split government, one party in control of the white house, one in control of congress. As long as the president will defend this nation, I don't care his party.

The Republicans are doing the exact same thing as democrats. Spend, spend, spend, spend, spend, and spend some more. At least I expect democrats to spend. Republicans are supposed to be the party of smaller government.

The Reagan Revolution is over.

I'm back.
