Liberals are forever whining about questions regarding their patriotism. They get apoplectic anytime someone suggests that they just don't love America as conservatives do. Well, they don't. Now, let me separate liberals from democrats. Well, some of them. Zel Miller, Joe Lieberman, et al., I wouldn't throw in that boat. But, the mainstream of democratic party ideology, the Howard Dean wing, or as he puts it, the "democratic wing of the democratic party". Or as I would call them, the "un-American wing of the un-American party". Let me explain.
This from John Kerry on Meet the Press Sunday, April 19:
And that's just a sample. Now, of course he says that he would never cede the security of the US to any institution or any other country. He has to. If he doesn't, he gets beat badly. But what do the preceding statements reveal? He basically says that it's more important that we are liked around the world, and that he will go around the world to seek their approbation. What's he going to do when he's there? Apologize? Genuflect? Prostrate himself?
And why exactly can't we make all the decisions Senator? I can't think of a single nation that has the track record that we have. The first half of the twentieth century we spent basically fixing Europe's catastrophes. We save them from the Kaiser, then we bail them out economically during the 1920's. And of course that little thing called WW2. We are the only country in history to replace tyrannical regimes with democracies. The latter half, we spend spilling blood so oppressed people can live free. Like, oh, Vietnam, Somalia, Bosnia, for starters. And if I remember correctly, we didn't have the "international community" behind us in any of those.
You want the UN making the decisions. What have they done? I just want one example of the UN aiding a country and its progress towards democracy and freedom. I just want one example of the UN doing anything other than aiding and abetting tyrants, turning a blind eye on genocide, or running operations that are rife with corruption. And I defy them to put their track record at charity against the Catholic Church.
So, liberals just don't trust the US. They don't want us to lead. They want us to be liked. Are we in high school? Are we suffering from low self-esteem? If they felt the same about the US that conservatives do, they would want us to lead, to be solely in charge. They would think that our values, our way of life, is best. They would want to export those and not worry what others thought. But they don't.
Liberals are forever telling us how much they love America. Fine. But I would like to know what America they love.
Could it be the America that was founded by white, male, slaveowners?
Could it be the nation that was founded by religious Christians?
Could it be the same nation that engaged in the slave trade long after Europe abolished it?
Could it be the same nation that counted blacks as 3/5 a person?
Could it be the same America that conquered and destroyed millions of "Native Americans"?
Could it be the the same America that denied the franchise to women and minorities for 150 years?
Could it be the same nation that had slavery?
Could it be the same nation that for decades practiced legal segregation?
Could it be the same nation that lynched thousands of blacks while the government turned a blind eye?
Could it be the same nation that treated women like second class citizens?
Could it be the same nation supported despots throughout Latin America and Asia?
Could it be the same nation that allowed innocent dissenters to be persecuted in the 1950's by Senator McCarthy?
Could it be the same nation that destroys the environment and consumes 1/4 of the world's output?
Could it be the same nation that is the only one to ever use nuclear weapons?
Could it the same nation that allows 40 million people to go without health care?
Could it be the same nation they want to turn into a "multicutural" society, as opposed to our "e pluribus unum"?
Could it be the same nation that they persist in destroying, rather than championing, in the public schools?
Could it be the same nation that has such a large gap between the rich and the poor?
Could it be the same nation that makes it impossible for non-white men to get ahead without government intervention, assistance, and support?
The list goes on. What you will never hear is a liberal say anything positive about the US. Compare this with Ronald Reagan.
And of course he had this to say of the democrats (which might sound eerily familiar):
I'm sure liberals love America. Really. I just want to know what they love about America, seeing as they spend every ounce of energy trying to change everything about it. Maybe it's that we are the only nation that actually allows them to exist, spew their nonsense freely, and actually takes some of them seriously. Well, Canada does that. So, it must be something. But they haven't told us. And we're still waiting.
But don't hold your breath waiting. Liberals just don't love America. They just love attacking and criticizing her. Maybe that's it.

I've spoken of the shining city all my political life, but I don't know if I ever quite communicated what I saw when I said it. But in my mind it was a tall, proud city built on rocks stronger than oceans, windswept, God-blessed, and teeming with people of all kinds living in harmony and peace; a city with free ports that hummed with commerce and creativity. And if there had to be city walls, the walls had doors and the doors were open to anyone with the will and the heart to get here. That's how I saw it, and see it still.
And of course he had this to say of the democrats (which might sound eerily familiar):
The Democrats say that the United States has had its days in the sun, that our nation has passed its zenith. They expect you to tell your children that the American people no longer have the will to cope with their problems, that the future will be one of sacrifice and few opportunities. My fellow citizens, I utterly reject that view.

The bomb plot that was stopped in Jordan has some very ominous overtones. The Jordanians fortuantely were able to stop a chemical bomb plot that could have killed tens of thousands. So two questions remain: where did the chemicals come from, and who are the bombers?
According to Reuters, Jordan intelligence links the bombers to al Qaida, and says that the terrorists entered Jordan through Syria. Intelligence also has the chemical bombs originating in Syria. So we know that al Qaida is active in Syria.
And from where did the WMD's come from? Are they Syrian developed, or did they come from somewhere else? WorldNetDaily reported back in January that the same people that shipped arms to Saddam in violation of UN sanctions (those sure work, don't they), are the ones that helped Saddam get them out before the war. So, we know where the weapons came from. They came from Iraq.
Senator Kerry, and the rest of the Bush hating democrats, are you listening? Let's play paint by numbers:
Is that a nice picture Senator Kerry? Today on Meet the Press you claimed there is no al Qaida-Saddam link. The only thing there is no link between is the truth and your rhetoric, senator. So now, it appears that the war was not only necessary, but too late. Because we spent months dealing with the UN, rememeber that, trying to get France, Germany, and Russia to join us, when they never were going to. They were too engrossed in exploiting the UN's Oil-for-Food program and illegally supplying Saddam with arms in violaiton of the very same UN sanctions.
So, there is a definite link between al Qaida, WMD's, terrorism, and Saddam. And now, it appears we're too late. Are you listening Senator Kerry.
